The Bureau of Investigative Journalism won the Digital Media prize at the 2011 Amnesty Media Awards for its website www.iraqwarlogs.com. The site is dedicated to exploring the 400,000 U.S. Army reports on activities during the war in Iraq. The award is for “excellence in human rights reporting and acknowledge[ment of] journalism’s significant contribution to the public’s awareness and understanding of human rights issues.”
