The Memorial de Caen organizes for 24 years an international competition where lawyers have to plead about the case of a person or a situation whom suffers human rights violations.
Each year, ten lawyers plead their cases in front of a jury of key players from legal, political, cultural and artistic backgrounds, who are all committed to defending Human Rights, as well as to a large audience.
This year, the winner of the competition is Maître Charles Merlen, for his plead about Bradley Manning.
The Memorial is a museum about 2nd Wold War, and more widely a center of exhibitions and research.
